The ASHIC Trip

The motive was simple:

On popular request, 1di finally organised a trip to ASHIC Cancer Shelter open to both members and guests. Everyone was excited about this much awaited trip! Living with cancer and chemotherapy must be terribly painful. We can't give them a promise of life, but we could try to make life a little more bearable - even for just one day. Let's try to forget cancer for a day and party!

Bearing gifts of chocolates, books, colour pencils, colouring books, stickers, etc, 1di stepped into ASHIC, and set about decorating the place with balloons. Red noses abounded as our members "attemped" to look funny. Amidst balloons, streamers, games, singing, dancing to the Tarzan and Jane song, 1di members, the kids, and everyone else at ASHIC had a fun they they'll always remember.

1di expresses their gratitude to "Aunty" - Salma Choudhury (Chairperson, ASHIC) and "Uncle" - Afzal Choudhury (President, ASHIC) and Zulfikar Bhai (In-charge, ASHIC) for giving us this wonderful opportunity, and for doing so much for these adorable children. They have dedicated their lives to making some other lives - whatever is left of them - better. They are the real heroes.
